Keeping Focus On Exams Before The Holidays

Christmas break is just around the corner and it can be hard to keep focus of what is important in terms of academic achievement over the holidays.

Most of us are looking forward to a break from studies and spending time with family and friends, but here are some tips to keep you focused so you can return to school with a fresh mindset while also enjoying the holiday season!

  1. Don't procrastinate! I am sure you have heard to a million times, but when assigned projects are given before the break it is a good time to get a head start. More school work and studying before the break means more time enjoying what Santa left for you under the tree during the break.
  2. Time management. Big project due after the break? Or maybe you have a book assignment? Try to break it into smaller more manageable chunks and work on it earlier in the day. Devote just an hour or two. This way you have your whole day left instead of cramming hours into a late night study binge.
  3. Ask for help! Over this holiday season you will have plenty of friends and family around that can offer insight and advice on whatever your current project is. Using family is a great resource to help build upon your ideas or study habits. PROTIP: Get a friend or family member to make flash cards to help improve your memory for that big test
  4. Enjoy the holidays. This one is quite simple. Don`t spend the holiday break fretting over projects and exams, but instead use the time you are not studying or working to kick it and relax and connect with your family and friends. Keep it social and try not binge watch Netflix and play video games.

Using these tips will help to keep stress manageable and make best use of your holiday break. All while participating in the festivities!

Have a happy Holiday everyone from 4THW!
