How To Achieve Your New Years Resolutions

The closing of one chapter and the start of another. New years is a time for goal setting and resolutions.

So last year you didn't go to the gym everyday or eat healthier like you said you would. Instead this year make your goals manageable and set a timeline.

So instead of saying I will start going to the gym, set a goal that can measured. For example I will lose 15 lbs this year. Track your progress on a calendar and make not of small accomplishments. This mindset can transferred to almost any goal; Work, social environments, school, and lifestyle.

The secret to goal setting are these principles:

Make is achievable.  Don't set your sights too high. You will only become overwhelmed most likely give up. Keep things in perspective and if you do have a large goal try breaking it up into smaller more manageable chunks. completing these will give you a sense of accomplishment.

Track your progress. Set a timeline for your goal and consistently check on progress. in your goal is set for the next six months to complete then every week mark down what progress you have made towards your goal.

Make yourself accountable. The best way to hold yourself accountable is to tell the people around you what you want to achieve. This way if you end up off course from your goals, Your friends family and supporters will be there to remind you. Another great way is to use the track your progress tip. Every week write down on a calendar what you need to do to stay on track.

Stay consistent. Do your best to stay on track, but if you fail or hit a few speed bumps this does not mean it is over. Stay motivated and find support if needed. Constantly remind yourself why you set this goal and what it would mean to you to achieve it.
